Fruit and vegetables

In January 2011, the first EPIC-Heart paper entitled "Fruit and vegetable intake and mortality from ischaemic heart disease: results from the European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition (EPIC)-Heart study" was published in the European Heart Journal. Led by Dr Francesca Crowe (EPIC-Oxford), this paper shows a small but significant reduction in risk of cardiovascular mortality with increased fruit and vegetable consumption.
